We decided that with the prevailing winds that it would be better to cross from the top end of Sardinia rather than the south end where we are. From Villasimius to Fornelli is 200 nautical mile sail. We planned to break it up into 4 days.

When the winds abated on Friday we were able to head out of the Marina, we left at noon. Exiting the marina there was quite a bit of swell and I could see thw slightly worried look on Leanne and Cheryl's faces (we are going to have four days of this!), but as soon as we rounded the tip of Sardinia, the swell flattened while the wind held up. We had a very pleasant and fast afternoon sail.

Once we cleared the pass between Corsica and Sardinia the wind picked up to 25 knots+, with a nice swell this made for some fast downwind sailing.
