Martinique - January 10th - Feb 17th

After returning to Canada for Christmas and new years we are back on the boat in Martinique. We plan to stay here until we get all of the work done on the boat as Neo Marine here in Martinique are exceptional in the service they provide.


The long list of repairs/updates that need to be done are as follows:


  1. Replace the bearing seal on both rudders (warranty)

  2. Replace the black water tank through holes and valves, the brass ones were corroding and were replaced with plastic ones (warranty)

  3. Replace the rooftop solar panels (warranty)

  4. Fix the connection of the autopilot ram to the rudder quadrant (warranty)

  5. Fix a couple of gelcoat voids (warranty)

  6. Fix the Salon Freezer (warranty)

  7. Replace the TV (warranty)

  8. Fix SuperB batery monitor (warranty)

  9. Install a shim in the sheet lead blocks in the roof to reduce chaffing (warranty)

  10. Replace the mainsail traveler and stop

  11. Fix the chafe on the spinnaker halyard

  12. Fix the transmit AIS intermittent failure

  13. Bottom clean

  14. Anti-foul bottom paint

  15. Polish and paint folding propellers

  16. Service saildrives

  17. Paint Saildrives

  18. Replace zinks

  19. Fix Anchor light

  20. Fix ripped parasail

  21. Fix black water tank - ultrasonic gauge

  22. Repaint the chain "5m marks"



There is also the Nautitech event that is organized for 7th - 9th February and so we would like to attend that and meet some of the other cruisers. So we wanted to stay around for that too.


So we settled in for a longer stay, set our clocks to island time and relaxed.


The Haul out:

The bottom is in very good shape considering that it has been in the water for a year!
